Only a little over half of the British population can remember the lineup of the Beatles, according to a survey conducted by online retailer Amazon.co.uk.
The survey found that 43 per cent of people could not list all four members of the band, and 20 per cent could not name John Lennon or Paul McCartney as being part of it.
In spite of this, the Beatles topped a list of acts people would like to see re-form, with 45 per cent wanting to see the group in action ahead of the Doors, the Sex Pistols and the Smiths.
Music manager for Amazon.co.uk Paul Zimmerman said: "We may not all be able to remember their names, but we can all hum along to a Beatles song."
