The man accused of murdering Auckland journalist Kylie Jones has been declared mentally fit to plead and will face a pre-depositions hearing next month.
Taffy Herbert Hotene, aged 30, appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.
Hotene's lawyer, Roger Chambers, QC, said his client had undergone a psychiatric assessment and the case could proceed normally.
