Competing tourist areas in the central North Island have formed a joint marketing group to bring more domestic and international travellers to the area.
The group consists of eight regional tourism organisations, including the Coromandel, Waikato, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, Lake Taupo, Ruapehu, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay.
The alliance is aimed at promoting the many diverse wonders of the central North Island internationally, particularly in developing visitor markets such as South America, China, India and South Africa.
