Britain got closer to resolving a paedophile scandal yesterday when the Government said it had traced 28 people who worked at homes where hundreds of children were abused in the 1970s and 1980s.
After a 48-hour hunt involving all local and health authorities, the Government had obtained the most recent addresses of the 28 staff, who were sought after a report into child abuse identified them as working at the homes in Wales. The hunt was initiated not to arrest those involved but to ensure they were not working with children.
