A landlord who was caught on home surveillance cameras having sex in his tenants' bed pleaded guilty to trespassing last week.
Carlos Quijada-Lara was filmed breaking in to the $1100-a-month Colorado apartment of married couple Logan Pierce and Mikaela DiGiulio in Colorado Springs last November to have sex on their bed with another man.
He was unaware that the couple had installed a surveillance camera in their bedroom, which recorded the romp, the Daily Mail reported.
Last week, Quijada-Lara, 39, pleaded guilty to felony trespassing in a deal with prosecutors, The Smoking Gun reports. He is due to be sentenced next month.
In November last year, Pierce and DiGiulio were at work when Pierce received a message on his phone from the app linked to the surveillance cameras.
It had detected unusual activity in his bedroom and was triggered to alert him.
"I got a notification from one of the cameras on lunch the other day that it detected noise and it was strange because both of us work all day every day," he told KKTV at the time.
When he reviewed the footage, he saw his landlord in their bedroom having sex with another man on their bed.
"I opened up the camera and kind of had to like quit the program and like restart it again because I didn't really believe what I saw," said Pierce.
Afterwards, Quijada-Lara's partner used DiGiulio's wedding dress to wipe his genitals.
The couple alerted police and the landlord was charged with trespassing.
At the time, Colorado Springs Lieutenant Howard Black said: "Landlords don't have the ability to go into tenant apartments and do whatever they want to do."
Quijada-Lara will be sentenced on September 22.
The maximum sentence for first-degree felony trespassing in Colorado is four years imprisonment and $100,000.
