MEXICO CITY (AP) " Officials say four high school students have been found slain south of Mexico City.
The state prosecutor's office says the four were found on a dirt road in the town of Yautepec, but gives few details. It says all had been stabbed and none was shot. It says its preliminary investigation indicates organized crime is not involved.
The Autonomous University of Morelos State confirms the deaths in a statement and demands the case be solved.
The university statement demands that officials refrain from jumping to the conclusion the victims found Wednesday were involved in crime " a common suggestion made by Mexican authorities about murder victims.
State Gov. Graco Ramirez pledged through his Twitter account Thursday that the crime won't go unpunished.
