Police: Denver hospital on lockdown after gun sighting

DENVER (AP) " Police say a Denver hospital complex has been placed on lockdown after a report that a man was seen carrying a rifle on the complex grounds.

Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez said Friday there was no confirmation that shots had been fired or anyone injured at the Rose Medical Center complex.

Denver police officers surrounded the complex east of downtown after the sighting, captured on a surveillance camera.

Several roads surrounding the complex were closed.

An adjacent Veterans Administration hospital also was on lockdown as a protective measure.
