THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) " Dutch police in the port city of Rotterdam say they have arrested a 42-year-old man suspected of intimidation and vandalism in the aftermath of last month's failed coup in Turkey.
Monday's arrest was the first in the Netherlands amid tensions within the large Dutch Turkish community between supporters of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and those of U.S.-based Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen.
Ankara alleges Gulen was responsible for the violent July 15 coup attempt that left over 270 people dead. Gulen denies any involvement.
The identity of the man arrested Monday was not released, in line with Dutch privacy rules. Police say he is expected to appear before an investigating judge Thursday, facing charges including incitement, vandalism, threatening behavior and spreading hate.
