Almost two dozen exotic animals have been seized from a Canada pet store, and some have been killed, after a python escaped and strangled two young boys earlier this week.
Bruce Dougan, the manager of the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton, New Brunswick, said Friday that four alligators were euthanized because officials couldn't find accredited zoos that would take them.
The other animals seized include a Cuban crocodile, dwarf crocodiles, snakes and lizards.
Noah Barthe, 4, and his brother Connor, 6, were found dead Monday. They had been sleeping in the apartment of the pet store owner, a family friend.
Officials have said the pet store did not have a special permit for the python.
