An outfit worn by one of the Mary Poppinses from the London Olympics opening ceremony has been put up for auction.

Bids for the black dress reached £315 (NZ$610) last night with the auction set to close on Sunday. The umbrella and bag are being sold separately.

It is being sold on an eBay-style website set up by Games organisers Locog where fans can bid for items used during Olympic events.

An Olympic torch signed by British Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medal cyclist Bradley Wiggins fetched £13,000 (NZ$25,000) on the site.
