Mexico has been hit by another large earthquake today, following a violent shake earlier today in the country's western side.
The magnitude 7.1 earthquake has struck 149 kilometres west of La Dolce in Sonora, Mexico, at a depth of 9.9 kilometres, the US Geological Survey said.
It hit at about 7.15pm (NZT)
There have not been any reports of damage at this stage.

It follows a 6.4 magnitude quake which struck a sparsely populated area in the mountains of western Mexico, and caused tall buildings to sway more than 200 miles (322 kilometers) away in Mexico City.
