Fire shuts down Perth's central railway

An electrical fire near Perth's central railway station has caused major disruption for the city's commuters with major rail routes shut down.

Transperth has advised that train services on the Joondalup and Mandurah lines have been delayed and services have been cancelled between the city and Fremantle.

Alternative bus transport is being arranged but Transperth is urging commuters to find other ways to get to work.

Transperth said it was working to rectify the disruption and has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
