7.1 earthquake reported in Vanuatu

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake has hit off the south Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, the US Geological Survey reports, but no tsunami warning has been issued.

The earthquake was located approximately 275 km south of Port Vila and struck at about 8:55PM local time.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries.
