Two teenage boys have been charged after allegedly trying to loot a boat washed up near disaster-hit Bundaberg.

A police chopper spotted the pair trying to get into the cabin of the boat at Bargara on Thursday night.

When officers arrived, the boys tried to flee but were caught a short distance away with marine equipment allegedly stolen from a different vessel targeted in an earlier raid.

The boys will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Meanwhile, a 61-year-old has also been charged with looting after allegedly stealing a refrigerator in flooded Bundaberg.

On Thursday night, police noticed a station wagon travelling through a flooded part of the CBD.

It's alleged the fridge was stolen from a business in Walla St.

He will face the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on March 4.
