The weather for tonight's Coca Cola Christmas in the park in Auckland is looking cloudy and a bit windy - but conditions should be mostly mild and dry.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says overcast skies would insulate the city tonight, stopping the daytime heat from escaping - and therefore a mild evening is on the way.

However winds from the east will be a little brisk at times which could make conditions feel a little cooler. WeatherWatch.co.nz suggests those attending pack a jacket or jersey.

As for rain? Well, WeatherWatch.co.nz says there are a few brief light showers or drizzle across the upper North Island and says there is a 30% chance of one of those showers briefly passing over Auckland Domain - otherwise the evening looks mostly dry.

Christmas in the Park - Auckland Domain - 7:30pm

* Temperature: Around 17 degrees

* Wind: Easterlies a little brisk at times and could feel a little cool - the 'feels like' temp will be around 16.

* Ground: Dry

* Chance of a brief light shower or drizzle patch: 30%
