Rangitikei's deputy mayor Nigel Belsham's 'hole in one' just over a week ago has been confirmed as not the only ace by a Marton Golf Club member this calender year.
Allie Bary made her own magic shot during the Junior Eagles tournament for the Murray Halberg Trust back on January 26.
Husband Campbell Bary was part of the playing group and said it was a beautiful shot on the 6th hole - a Par 3 over 103m.
His wife used a hybrid club and her drive landed on the green and went forward to the hole, which was confirmed when no-one could see the ball anywhere else.
Ironically, the Bary's had actually taken out insurance for a hole in one as a very small part of another policy, so Allie was very popular at the clubrooms as she was willing to shout everybody a drink.
It is the third recorded ace in the wider Whanganui region this year, after Belsham at Hawkestone on June 11 and Waverley Golf Club's Con Ferguson back in early May.
