There's no greyhound racing at Hatrick this evening, however the Wanganui club will host a fundraising evening at the raceway for the Wanganui Cancer Society.
A twilight race meeting will be held at the Manawatu Raceway as the greyhound code gets involved in the City of Palmerston North tri-code weekend of Gold Cup racing.
Nine feature races from 3.35pm will ensure high quality chasing action will be.
The $15,000 Palmerston North Gold Cup (Race 9) at Group 2 level is the feature 457m event and the New Zealand Cup winner American Warrior has been installed as the warm favourite to take the event out.
Included on the card is the four dog shootout paw wrestle, over the extreme 766m staying test, in the Arch Lawrence Distance Invitation (Race 8) which features the strong recent Hatrick 755m feature winner Shandell.
The Cancer Society fund raiser at Hatrick involves team challenges that incorporates various challengers.
The function begins at 6.30pm with eight person teams starting their challengers at 7pm.
There is a $30 entry fee per person, while the leading team will walk away with a $600 prize.
There will be continuous batons up raffles, auctions, plus a wide range of prizes to be won, with supper being provided.

Normal greyhound racing will resume at Hatrick on Wednesday afternoon with the normal 15 race card while the Friday twilight racing returns next week.
The opportunity to purchase a 10 per cent ownership share in a pair of leading greyhounds for their respective feature races in Palmerston North this evening is available.
All proceeds from both auctions will be donated to the Rebecca Black trust.
Leading auctioneer Steve Davis will auction a 10 per cent share in the champion stayer Shandell just after Race 7 (5.34pm) and then the same will occur for a 10 per cent share in American Warrior after Race 8 (6.06pm).
Phone bids, lodged through a person on course, will be accepted.
