The Mid Central Zone Rugby League performance camp in Wanganui this weekend will spotlight mainly off-field facets of the game.
The camp, from 9.30am until 4.30pm at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday, is open to players, parents and whanau, current and new referees and clubs and coaches from within the zone.
While player skills, fitness and development will be assessed, the main focus will be on off-field aspects including player and volunteer pathways, agent, manager and player recruitment, referee development and specialised coaching workshops.
While club development, including funding applications, will be covered, an insight into NZRL and NRL culture, vision and values will also be delivered by officials from both organisations.
The performance camp will give parents, whanau and individuals a clearer picture of the steps to follow once players, coaches and administrators are identified for higher honours.
Registrations for the camp will be taken from 9.30am on Sunday.
