The men and women Wanganui premier and non-premier interclub bowls teams roll up for battle on two fronts for the playoffs this weekend.
The premier men play off at the Wanganui East Bowling Club tomorrow and Sunday, while the premier women battle it out at the Gonville Women's Bowling Club.
The Wanganui East club has seven teams entered but will have to contend with a new-look Wanganui Bowling Club team who won last year's competition.
Wanganui has recruited three new players from Laird Park - Grant McAuley and Cary and Warrick Pinker. This year Clint Park is unavailable. Runners-up last year were the Aramoho Bowling Club and they have Peter Belliss returning from Australia.
Last year's women's winners, Wanganui Bowling Club, have recruited three new players, also from Laird Park.
The host club Gonville has four teams entered, while last season's premier 2 winners Marton step up to premier 1 division. Last year's winners, Wanganui East, play Wanganui and Laird Park.
Interclub comprises teams of seven players who play singles, pairs and fours with a time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes.
