Perhaps they are looking down from up on the hill with envy or even admiration.
Durie Hill residents are coming together to improve their suburb under the banner Step Up Durie Hill.
The group was the idea of Rod Bannister, who got the idea from "observing what a great job Progress Castlecliff was and is doing for their community".
A meeting was held at St Barnabas' Church on December 6 which Mr Bannister said was attended by more than 100 people.
Sixteen people were chosen to oversee specific community projects in the Whanganui suburb.
Mr Bannister said these would focus on reclaiming Durie Hill as the "Garden Suburb", revamping the entrance ways to Durie Hill and getting children involved in community activities.
The group also want to engage with Whanganui District Council to "ensure we are getting our share as part of their long-term planning".
Mr Bannister said it was about getting neighbours acting collectively for the suburb.
*Step Up Durie Hill will be holding a community BBQ and meeting on Christmas Eve at St Barnabas' Church from 5.30pm
