Residents at Kowhainui Home and Retirement Village in Whanganui had trouble recognising some of their staff on Wednesday.
A Christmas Parade led by Mary and Jesus included many members of staff as well as Mayor Hamish McDouall, children and teachers from Montessori School, a couple of police officers and two blokes from the Mad Butcher.
Little dog Precious made a white, woolly angel while a miniature horse played a reindeer named Rudolph.
And a certain

photographer named Munro acted as the white-bearded gentleman handing out the lollies.
Former All Black Doug Wilson, a resident at Kowhainui, was enjoying the parade with his visiting wife Janice and fellow resident Molly Harden.
Mr Wilson made his test debut against England at Twickenham on January 30, 1954, his 23rd birthday and the All Blacks won 5-0.
On Wednesday he was happy to be cheering on the team of staff and guests who put on a jolly good show.
