An artwork by a former student of Whanganui Intermediate and Wanganui Collegiate is helping form closer ties between the two schools.
Megan MacKay presented an untitled photo montage - depicting buildings from both schools - to Whanganui Intermediate, on behalf of Wanganui Collegiate on Friday.
Megan was approached by Collegiate to make the artwork. She said she felt honoured by the request, and was happy her artwork would grace the walls at Whanganui Intermediate.
"When I started at Collegiate six years ago, I was the only girl in my year that was going to Collegiate. Almost everyone else went to Whanganui High School," Megan said.
Megan is now studying design and marketing at Victoria University.
She said art had always been her passion, but she was still not certain yet what she wanted to do once she leaves university.
Head of art at Wanganui Collegiate, Catherine Richards, said Megan had left a lasting impression on current art students at Collegiate.
"They all want to know how Megan did this, or did that," Ms Richards said.
"We are very proud of Megan and what she has achieved."
Another Collegiate student, Lola Murray-Camden, made an artwork that was given to St George's School on behalf of Collegiate in September.
