Ohakune School are holding mini-gala on Thursday November 30 for two special reasons.
The gala will not only raise funds for school activities but it was also a way for students to learn about financial literacy and what was needed in producing and selling items.
Principal Lisa Clark told the Ruapehu Bulletin the mini gala would be unique.
"Because, unlike fundraising galas, it focuses what is needed to plan, prepare and sell items."
Ms Clark said the children were learning about money and what was required to produce goods.
"Classes all have all taken individual projects and preparations are in full swing.''
There will be a sausage sizzle, other food items and a range of exciting goods to buy, she said.
The gala kicks off at the school at 4.30pm on November 30.
