The Whanganui Fine Arts Collective are urging the public to get along to their gallery in Taupo Quay and vote for their favourite young artist next week.
The inaugural Young Artist Scholarship winner, along with the People's Choice winner, will be announced at the collective's second birthday celebration next Friday.
The exhibition of young artists' work is open for viewing every day from10am until 3pm and voting for the People's Choice will close at 3pm on Thursday.
Mainstreet's Kelly Scarrow suggested the Young Artist Scholarship which is supported by Whanganui District Council and the winner will receive a $1000 prize, mentoring from collective artists and a solo exhibition at the Whanganui Fine Arts Gallery next year.
The People's Choice winner will receive a $200 prize and their work will appear on the cover of Artist Open Studio's Whanganui Guide 2018.
"We want to invite people to call in to the gallery and vote for their People's Choice this week," said collective member Gail Imhoff.
"We want to give encouragement and recognition to our young artists and we will announce the winners at our birthday celebration on Friday, November 17."
The Whanganui Fine Arts Collective got together in 2015 to share a gallery where they exhibit their work along with that of several guest artists. They plan to make the Young Artist Scholarship an annual event.
