The new shop in Marton's Follet St is not selling cute, snub nosed dogs although they do have one as a mascot.
PUG stands for Pop Up Gallery and a garden ornament representing the breed has been decorated with bright paint and accessories to adorn the gallery.
Work by 26 artists from Rangitikei, Whanganui and Palmerston North including sculptures, paintings, jewellery, fabric art, pottery and more is on sale at the temporary space until December 23.
The former computer shop has been stripped back and re-painted by the new owner making a perfect space to house a temporary gallery.
"With a collective of 26 people, we have no shortage of people willing to mind the shop," said potter Lorraine Barnett.
"We have brought bits of furniture and different props in to display the work."
A range of ladders have been used to display some of the work and collective members have employed their own wooden tables to enhance the works on sale.
Bronze sculptor Ross Wilson's work has been popular during the gallery's first week and his pieces range from miniature ornaments to large garden sculptures.
People on the hunt for soft furnishings will find woven rugs from Lawrence and Heather Gatehouse in a range of colours and designs.
There are laser engravings and paper crafts from husband and wife team Erin and Mark Woods, cast glass pieces from Maree Brannigan, jewellery from Rachel Stockley and much more.
Ms Barnett said this is the second year the collective has set up the pop-up gallery in Marton.
"We took around $16,000 last year and it will be great if we can do as well or better this time."
PUG is open from Wednesday to Friday 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm at 3 Follet St, Marton.
