Shanee Natelle Whata pleaded guilty to drink driving and careless driving when she appeared in the Whanganui District Court last week.
On October 4, Whata lost control of her vehicle causing it to crash while she was under the influence.
Defence lawyer Raukawa Simon told the court her understanding was that the only damage done was to Whata's vehicle.
"She is here taking responsibility for it, and it was a first time offence," Ms Simon said.
"You are very fortunate it was only you involved," Judge Philip Crayton said, convicting Whata for exceeding a breath alcohol level over 400mcgs and for careless driving.
Whata was ordered to pay a $1000 fine and $130 to cover court costs, and she was disqualified from driving for six months.
