Assassins Muay Thai Gym will build on the success of their inaugural fight night by putting on a second show this calender year with Night of Assassins 2 at Springvale Stadium on November 4.
Two local fighters will be in New Zealand amateur championship bouts, with the show headlined by Mike 'Tha Muss' Makatea-Leylander defending his IKBF light middleweight belt against former champion Deej Edwards from the Jackals gym in Hawke's Bay.
Edwards was signed to fight Makatea-Leylander at the first Night of Assassins show in March, but was injured in training and vacated the title, which allowed the Whanganui fighter to win it against Porirua's Aaron Cole via split decision in an entertaining scrap.
Makatea-Leylander has made good on his word that he would offer Edwards a shot at regaining the belt he never lost in the ring.
Fellow Assassin Brendon Wallace will also get the opportunity to challenge for the IKBF NZ middleweight title against Manawatu's Mike Kapi (Misfits).
Wallace earned a majority decision over Hamilton's Rangi Haggie (Stormforce Gym) at the first Night of Assassins and is currently on a seven fight win streak.
However, Kapi is reported to be a veteran of over 30 fights and a dangerous knockout artist.
Both title fights will consist of five two-minute rounds.
The last card in Whanganui consisted of 12 amateur and novice bouts.
