It will be the night of the Charlottes at Lucky Bar when Whanganui musician Charlotte Melser and Wellington's Charlotte Yates perform.
Citadel Cafe owner Melser was "outed" as a singer and songwriter in 2015 when she was selected as the judges' wildcard finalist in TV talent show Homai Te Pakipaki.
Yates is on tour to promote her new album Then The Stars Start Singing released on July 28.
In addition to releasing six previous solo albums and being a member of the wickedly witty When the Cat's Been Spayed, Yates has co-ordinated all-star musical tributes to James K Baxter, Hone Tuwhare and Witi Ihimaera.
Yates says she is looking forward to returning to Whanganui for this sixth concert of her album release tour.
In 2001, she spent three days up the Whanganui River shooting a video with Greg Johnson for the Baxter tribute CD.
She says her team had a fine time staying with Annette Main at the Flying Fox and visiting Hiruharama and other local sites getting footage.
For this tour, Yates teams up with multi-instrumentalist Gil Craig playing bass and horn and Show Pony supplying trumpet, violin and vocal backing.
Yates will perform her track The Fiery Shirt from the Baxter album in this concert in addition to new material.
Charlotte Yates with Charlotte Melser: Lucky Bar and Kitchen, 53 Wilson St, Whanganui, Friday, August 18 from 8pm.
