The man who stood on the roundabout near Cobham Bridge with a "work wanted" sign on Wednesday morning has some job leads.
Lyndon Sketcher took to the streets to ask for a job after a series of bad luck - a house fire, failed business and divorce.
"I have had so many calls today, even a lot of people who didn't have a job but just wanted to encourage me," he said on Thursday afternoon, his birthday.

"I've had a couple of leads that I will follow up tomorrow. Everything's been positive."
But Mr Sketcher, who moved back to his hometown Whanganui eight months ago, was still keen on more leads.
"Nothing's solid until you actually get the job."
A welder by trade, he has worked in a range of jobs before and would consider anything.
He said he had done CV drops in businesses around town too.
