Alzheimers Whanganui's Dinner and Charity Auction held at the Kingsgate Hotel on Friday night was a great success.
It raised around $6500 for the community organisation.
Around 90 people attended and showed their support for Alzheimers Whanganui by generously bidding on items donated by sponsors both local and from further afield.
Items up for grabs included return flights to Auckland with Air Chathams, a double mountain pass from Ruapehu Alpine Lifts and a two-hour beauty package.
Alzheimers Whanganui manager Wendy Paterson said the charity provided a much-needed service and gave valuable support to people in the Whanganui, Taihape, Rangitikei and Waimarino regions.
"We would like to thank all who attended and showed their support by purchasing goods - many above the reserve price - also our sponsors who gave so generously, Russell Duggan of Ray White Commercial and John Blakie the auctioneer, and all who contributed to a great evening," Ms Paterson said.
All funds raised will be used to deliver services locally to those living with dementia.
