Egg-citement filled the grounds of Virginia Lake yesterday on Easter Monday.
The Chronicle asked a bunch of children how they celebrated Easter and here's what they said:
Sisters Ruby and Jorgelina Armishaw enjoyed an egg rolling session with friends and family at Virginia lake on Easter Sunday.
"We did our own Easter egg hunt at home but I ended up giving most of my chocolate eggs to my sister," eight year-old Ruby said.
Three year old Dimitri Bennett said he saw "Mr Bunny" while on his Easter egg hunt with his sister.
"I saw him with the eggs - they were pink, blue, green, yellow.
Two year old Boston Abbott painted and hid rocks with his eight year old sister Carpice.
"I painted the rocks with insects and spiders. Afterwards I ate lots of chocolate - the crunchy kind is my favourite," Carprice said.
Three year old Adalynn Fergusson went to the Whanganui Library to see Hetty the hen.
"It was the highlight of the weekend," said mum.
