Region architects are pushing a photographic focus on the built environment in their latest photographic competition.
This year's title is Shelter Me and the prize is $500.
The New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) Western Branch has run a digital photographic competition for four years. The purpose is to promote good architecture and raise awareness of it.
The competition is a way to celebrate our magnificent region, and in particular some of the tremendous effort put in to create its built environment, Whanganui architect Duncan Sinclair said.
People can interpret the brief in a wide range of ways.
The competition is only for people who live in Taranaki, Whanganui and Manawatu and only for photographs of the built environment there.
The judges will again be Manawatu architect and photographer Heather Hocken and Whanganui photographer Mark Brimblecombe.
Entries close on April 30, and each photographer can enter two images. They are to be emailed to arch.photocomp@gmail.com and the results will be out on May 12.
