Whanganui SUPP have put their artistic flair to the test and jumped on the Whanganui Rocks craze by painting and hiding their own.
The team hopes their rocks will raise awareness of SUPP Whanganui to 12-19 year olds in the Whanganui DHB region.
The SUPP service was established to help young people experiencing, or at risk of developing, mental health issues and/or alcohol or other drug problems.
SUPP team member Helen Hagan says their little artworks have now been planted in various locations around Whanganui.
"They're just lying in wait for people to find them now," she says.
"If the rocks are found and returned to our SUPP offices within the Whanganui Hospital campus, we have some small prizes to give in exchange for the rock so they can be hidden again."
"Rock hunters will want to keep an eye on the SUPP Service Whanganui (@SUPPWhanganui) Facebook page where we'll be sharing a few clues."
SUPP was named as a nod to the commonly used expression 'what's up'. Over time its founders hope the name could be synonymous with sort your problems or support your peers.
