An incident-free Masters Games has drawn praise from police.

Whanganui police have given Masters Games competitors a big tick and say police were "very happy" with behaviour throughout the 10-day event.

"The city is to be congratulated for putting on such a great event - there was good vibe and everybody behaved responsibly," Senior Sergeant Andrew McDonald said.

Police did not have any incidents to deal with related to the games, which Mr McDonald said was good news for police and the city.
