A woman attacked a victim in her own driveway then punched an arresting officer.
Naomi Rauhina, 38, pleaded guilty in Whanganui District Court on Tuesday to one charge of common assault, one count of resisting police and two charges of assaulting police.
Police prosecutor Drew Morrison told the court at 11.50am on Jan 11 the victim returned home to find Rauhina in her driveway.
As she approached Rauhina began to verbally abuse her standing face-to-face with the victim.
Rauhina pushed the victim causing her to step backwards and threw punches at her face.
The victim attempted to block the attack but was eventually caught on the right side of the head.
As she fell to the ground Rauhina kicked her in the body.
Witnesses then saw Rauhina walk away from the area.
When police arrived at the scene they deployed the tracker dog which located Rauhina at home.
When police attempted to arrest her she became aggressive. They deployed the police dog at Rauhina at which point she quickly settled down.
But as the arresting officer attempted to place the handcuffs on her she turned and punched him in the face.
Once again the dog was used and officers wrestled her to the ground before restraining her.
Her lawyer Harete Hipango said Rauhina was willing to engage in restorative justice but believed the victim wouldn't want to take part.
Judge Philip Cameron scheduled the sentencing for May 12.
"All options are open that includes prison," he said.
