Dot McKinnon has been appointed chair of MidCentral District Health Board and Tariana Turia comes onto the Whanganui DHB in new appointments announced yesterday by the Minister of Health.
Ms McKinnon has been reappointed to the chair of Whanganui DHB as well as taking over the top governing role in Palmerston North.
Minister Jonathan Coleman said her dual roles was part of a strategy that is used nationally with DHBs.
"A total of nine members [nationally] have been cross-appointed.
"The Government is continuing its drive for greater regional collaboration in the planning and delivery of health services," said Dr Coleman.
The full Whanganui DHB is:
Dot McKinnon - Chair, Stuart Hylton - Deputy, Harete Hipango, Charlie Anderson, Darren Hull, Philippa Baker-Hogan, Tariana Turia, Judith Macdonald, Jenny Duncan, Graham Adams and Annette Main.
