Some of the finest quilts in the country are on display in Ohakune and can be seen at the Miro St gallery until the end of next week.

Curator Merrilyn George said there are 123 small quilts which are part of a travelling exhibition for Aotearoa Quilters and the National Association of New Zealand Quilters and Textile Artists.

"These are award-winning quilts and it is exciting to have them in Ohakune for two weeks" she said.

The quilts had the colour yellow or floral themes.

Mrs George said many of the yellow and floral-themed quilts are for sale at around $125 each.

The yellow works are 12" x12" and the floral are 17" x 10."

"They will make ideal Christmas presents and every one is unique," she said.
The quilts are on display at 58A Miro St in Ohakune until December 4.
