Whanganui Women's Refuge had some star power on hand to open its pop-up shop in Victoria Ave on Monday.
The Lady Killers' members Tina Cross, Jackie Clarke and Suzanne Lynch were shopping up a storm at the boutique op-shop's opening. The trio were in Whanganui to perform as part of their North Island tour.
Women's Refuge's relationship manager Sharyn Gosnell said the pop-up shop would be open for three weeks, selling good quality women's and children's clothes as well as some household items.
"The purpose of the shop is to fundraise for the day-to-day running costs of Women's Refuge such as the safe house," Ms Gosnell said.
Ms Gosnall said the pop-up shop would remain open until December 10 and would next open in April.
"We're hoping to be able to open it every six months."
She said stock would be turning over regularly in the shop, and donations of good quality clothing could be dropped at the shop.
Ms Gosnell said she was grateful to Women's Refuge's "incredible" volunteers, who helped set up the shop, as well as to Doreen Hardy from Mainstreet and the Grand Hotel for their assistance.
You'll find the pop-up shop at 41 Victoria Ave, in the former Bank of New South Wales building. Opening hours are 10am-4pm, Monday-Saturday, till December 10.
