The man accused of seriously injuring another man by hitting him with his car has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Tuesday was the third appearance in the Whanganui District Court for 61-year-old Michael Robert Pollard, who pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and driving without a licence.
About 2.20am on October 22 police were trying to break up a fight between 10 to 15 people outside the Red Lion Inn in Anzac Pde. During this incident, Jesse Minnell, 24, was hit by a car and suffered serious head injuries. Police said the driver fled the scene.
Pollard has elected trial by jury.
His next appearance in court will be February 7, 2017, for a case review hearing.
