Move over Mr Bond, a Whanganui accountant might yet be the most suave man on the planet.
Meet Mark FitzGerald. The 56-year-old was voted Ultimate Silver Fox in a photo competition run by lifestyle magazine and social hub Grownups.
It attracted 220 entrants aged 50-plus from throughout the country with more than 5000 votes cast over the month-long competition.
His partner took the winning photo before a fancy dress black tie event. Mr FitzGerald was striking his best James Bond pose at the time.
"She convinced me to enter - but only after a few beers. I said no at first," Mr FitzGerald said.
Asked if he's received much ribbing from colleagues and friends, he said people had been very supportive. "I had to lay on a work shout though of course."
Organiser Richard Poole said the competition was about celebrating being over 50 and happy. "It's nothing to do with physical beauty or youth - this is about attitude," he said.
But we had to ask - "silver" fox? We couldn't spot very much grey. "No, no Grecian 2000, it's my natural colour," Mr FitzGerald said.
He received a TV and a Navman as prizes, but not a modelling contract that was also included in the prize pool. "Well not yet, anyway."
Perhaps a call from Hollywood instead?
