An 11-year-old boy suffered leg injuries on Sunday afternoon at a property near Hunterville.

He was riding a motorbike and collided with a cow at about 3.30pm.

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter attended and the boy was stabilised by St John paramedics before being flown to Whanganui Hospital.

He was admitted to the children's ward and was in a stable condition yesterday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
