The Lyric Singers are teaming up with primary school choirs for their final two concerts of the year.

Musical director Joanna Love said the first concert, to be held on November 12 at St Stephen's Church in Marton, will feature the James Cook School Choir as guest artists.

The final concert will take place at St Mary's Church on November 26, and will raise funds for the Whanganui Surf Lifesaving Club.

Ms Love said it had been a "busy but rewarding year" for the Lyric Singers. She said a highlight was choir members performing in the Centrepoint Production The Event in Palmerston North in August.

"Part of this performance, apart from singing prepared items, required the choir to react spontaneously to events on stage. The choir found it a challenging, but rewarding experience," she said.

Ms Love said the choir currently has around 50 members, and more are welcome. If you are interested, please contact Ms Love on 345 9073.
