One of the first thing travellers will see when they enter Taihape from the south next month will be a huge banner strung across the main street.
The Rangitikei District Council are paying to have the events banner put up in Hautapau St.
It will stretch from the town hall corner across the street.
Taihape Community Board chairwoman Michelle Fannin said even though Gumboot Day was always well advertised, there were plenty of other events throughout the year that people travelling through Taihape would probably enjoy.
"We work hard to boost tourism here and have events from market days to art competitions and music festivals."
So far all they had was a "pole in hole", she said.
"But the rest will come very soon."
Ms Fannin said she couldn't say what the cost of the events banner would be yet. "We're just so thrilled it's happening, though."
