Police seek information following late night assault

Whanganui Police are investigating an assault which happened on Sunday morning at Queen's Park in Whanganui.

At about 1am a 17-year-old man was assaulted by another man while walking along the path between the War Memorial Hall and the Whanganui City Library.

He was knocked to the ground and required medical treatment.

Police say the assault was likely witnessed by members of the public as it was close to the War Memorial Hall and would like to hear from anyone who did or was in the area at the time.
