A car hit a power pole on Rapanui Rd on Thursday.
Emergency services were at the scene in Kai Iwi just after midday, where the crash had brought down power lines.
Whanganui Fire station officer Shane Dudley said it looked like the car, carrying three people and two dogs, spun out as it travelled towards town.
He said there were no injuries when the car hit a power pole on the opposite side of the road, but firefighters kept the occupants inside the vehicle while they waited for Powerco to make the area safe.
