A century-old couch from what was a snooker room at the Brick House Restaurant has found a new home at the Savage Club Hall.

Craig Falconer was charged with overseeing the move after being offered it by a mate.

"He said you're good at getting rid of stuff. I thought, it's a bit of history going to another bit of history," he said. "He came to see if I wanted it but I don't think my house is big enough."

Mr Falconer, better known as Frog, said he corralled about a six-strong moving party using Facebook and alcohol.

"It's about making s**t happen."

The snooker couch has ripped and torn upholstery but Frog believes it can be restored to its former glory. The building used to house the Wanganui Commercial Travellers' Club.
