Edward Ellison-Rogan is the fisherman in his household but this week it was wife Hailey who landed the big one.

Mrs Ellison-Rogan bought just one ticket in the Wanganui East Club fishing adjunct's raffle which offered a new $20,000 Suzuki Jimny vehicle - but hers was the lucky one when the draw was made this week.

The family already has two vehicles so this week's win will probably bring some readjustment to garaging arrangements at their Castlecliff home.

"One of my workmates (at Mars Petcare) is a member of Wanganui East Club and she bought some tickets to work. I bought one but it was the lucky one," Mrs Ellison-Rogan said.

"I've only won a $20 prize in a raffle before ... nothing like this," she said.

Her husband Edward is a keen fisherman and hunter so the rugged little Suzuki Jimny will be put to good use.

The club organised the raffle after being offered the Jimny by Gareth Jones, dealer principal at David Jones Motors.
