Three people required hospital treatment following a car crash on St Hill St yesterday morning.

The crash happened about 9.30am outside the Royal Wanganui Opera House. The two cars involved had come to a stop on either side of the road, with damage to the front of each.

Two ambulances and police attended.

Police officer Melissa Burroughs said there were three occupants in one car, including children, and one in the other.

Three of the four were taken to hospital but were discharged later in the day.

St Hill St was blocked from Maria Place to Ridgway St while the scene was cleared.
