Two people were seriously injured in a crash near Taihape yesterday morning.
St John Wanganui territory manager John Stretton said out of the three patients treated by paramedics, two were status one.
Patient condition is measured from status zero to five, with zero being dead.
The two-car crash happened on SH1 north of Taihape about 7.30am, Mr Stretton said.
Head and chest injuries and a compound fracture to the femur were reported, he said.
One male patient was taken to Wellington Hospital and one female patient was taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
Another male patient was taken to a local medical centre.
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter also attended the crash.
