Police are looking for witnesses to an accident between a car and a cyclist on the corner of Bell and Ingestre streets.
Sergeant Diane Limbrey said police were unsure what happened, but the cyclist had hit the right side of the car yesterday afternoon.
St John paramedics were called to the scene.
Duty manager Trudy Taylor said the 44-year-old man has "minor grazes" but was taken by ambulance to the Whanganui Hospital emergency department for an assessment.
